After having won a competitive bidding process for the organisation of a world expo to be held in 10 years’ time, our client now needed to set a strategy to turn their vision for the expo into reality.
Together with our client we participated in a series for focus groups and interviews to address the following key questions:
i.how to create meaningful engagement with local people,
ii.how to make most impact (inter)nationally,
iii.how to balance the financial and non-financial return on investment through time (between now and the event, at the event and after the event).
Through surveys, interviews, and workshops, we gained the required information and insights to start developing a clear strategy and key milestones for the overall project. Through the use of futureing techniques, we identified key themes, relevant at the time of the event. We planned these key themes in a way they would create clear benefits for the city and its partners as well as to the overall vision of the project.
